Yes I'm buying...no I'm not

Had to make a big decision today, a collector I know was raising cash for a big buy and was offering part of his collection at a discount. I was interested in his Amazing Spider-man #1 in GOOD and in his Avengers #4 in VG...we haggled a bit and he came down to $1000 for the pair. I had to think long and hard, but in the end I just couldn't swing it...it's still a grand.
Maybe if it had been Fantastic Four #1 + Avengers #4 for the same price, I would have found a way, but at the rate I'm going, early Silver ASM will only become a target around the Summer of 2005
Oh..and still no Avengers #2 and #3 in the mail today

you are killing me with these stories dude!! LOL

OLD comics and OBSOLETE storytelling!!
I can go out to the store everyday and for three bucks I take home amazing artwork by Eric Basaldua (Tombraider), Tyler (Superman/Darkness) or Micheal Turner (Soulfire) or Marc Silvestri (Hunter/Killer) OR great stories (Fables, Hakc/Slash, Spawn, Kabuki) and sometimes it is even both!!

LOL

Sincerely

Richard Boom

You are buying just that Boomboom...a comic with words and pictures. No sense of history no part of the Mighty World of Marvel lore...just comic fast-food

There's nothing like owning key Silver age issues, books bought over 40 years ago for 12cents, read and loved, browsed through and then saved for prosperity.

Books that made the foundation for over 40 years of continuity, storytelling and popular culture.

I bet you are one of those people that thinks that George Lucas did a good thing by revamping and updating the effects on the original Star Wars movies... :)

LOL

So you are buying history!

YES I do only collect comics for entertainment and sometimes as pieces of art (David Mack, Ebas, Turner, TEX), but my only complete (USA) arcs are on Vampirella, Spawn and Kabuki (the only long runs I have...other comics just have not lasted that long..LOL) and in Dutch comics I have almost every Spiderman issued :)

BTW...I reallllly do not enjoy StarWars very much :p

Talk to you later my friend

Richard
