A nice surprise
It's been a month, I know...sorry but my calendar is broken
Anyway, on to bigger and better things. I finally found some time to check out the books I have bought the last few weeks. Alas no Spider-mans at the moment (why do we
say Spider-MANS and not Spider-men, when talking about multiple books ??) because, well I want the right copy, not the right now copy. Trying to complete the series before the end of the year is really working against me, as I feel I almost have to grab the very first available book.
So what did the mailman bring this time :
From the need-these-to-complete-a-series collection
Hulk #254,#255,#256,#257,#261,#262,#265,#269,#271,#272,#311 (need 1 more book to complete #240 - #540)
Rom #70 & #37 (series complete)
Batman #280,#219,#218 (still need a lot of books)
Miracleman #22,#17 (need one more book to complete the series)
What If ? #1 #8,#17,#18,#20,#23(still need a lot of books)
Silver Surfer #4 (finally ! series complete)
But then I got carried away, like I always do and also bought a nice bunch of Silver Age books, which weren't really on my want-list. This of course now means than I'm going to have to start collecting these series as well
Journey Into Mystery #100, #102, #115 - #125. The series changes into Thor with #126, so it's a logical progression that since I've completed Thor I'm starting getting the Thor JIM run (#83 - #125) This is going to be expensive and hurt like hell !!
Now for the last few books I have absolutely no excuse at all...it doesn't continue from or to another series I've completed, I've no emotional attachment to them...nada.In fact to be honest these are the first books of this character I have ever bought...but I just had to get them...
Captain America #100 (first book in series), #106 & #109. So now I've decided to start a Cap #100 - #150 run as well...
Oh, I forgot all about that "nice surprise"...well the Cap books are Kirby books, and I absolutely adore Kirby, so when I was grading the book I couldn't help myself but start reading it...and look what I found on the bottom of the first page
HOLY *SPOON*
Yeah, that's a Jack Kirby signature
